As determined by the UN’s General Assembly in 1987, the 26th of June is the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. On this occasion the Szabad Tér Theatre devotes a whole day of programmes to the battle against drug abuse and illicit trafficking at the Városmajor Open-air Stage.
Drugs take away several hundreds of thousands of lives yearly. This event involves experts from related areas and charity organizations, and includes a concert as well as drug prevention programmes in order to reach out to the widest possible audiences and raise awareness about the risks of drug abuse and the importance of prevention.
The crown of this day-long event is a special gala concert which lines up the cream of the Hungarian music scene. The participants of the gala also support the programme’s aims, and through various musical genres (world music, pop music, jazz) offer a delightful pastime while celebrating the programme’s goal: a drug-free life.
Organized by the Szabad Tér Theatre.
Ferenc Snétberger and his students, Edina Mókus Szirtes, Jammal, Boggie, InFusion Trio, Nikoletta Szőke Quintet, WindSingers and Kállay-Saunders Band.
