Canarro és Tcha Limberger - swing manouche, Django, jazz
6 August 2017 (Sunday) 8 pm
Városmajor Open-Air Stage
Regarded as the best Hungarian manouche swing ensemble by many, Canarro Band merges French Gipsy swing and Hungarian musical traditions with refined taste - and is now performing at Városmajor Stage together with the outstanding and versatile musician Tcha Limberger.
Tcha Limberger is one of the select few whose rich voice and sophisticated technique resembles a great deal to the music of Django Reinhardt. Just like Django, Tcha Limberger is of Sinti musician origin. As a multi-instrumental artist, he plays the guitar, the violin and many others. Besides manouche swing, he takes inspiration from various traditions, Greek, Romanian or even Hungarian. Tcha was labelled as “music in person” by many renowned journals.
Emphasizing European swing and jazz alternately at their concerts, Hungarian authentic manouche guitar virtuoso Attila Sidoo and the jazz trio of pianist Zoltán Kovács (Kó) is a groundbreaking union with a profound basis in traditional European string music.
Dynamic, improvisative and enthralling, Canarro Band is a true heir to the tradition of Django.
