According to meteorologists, we can expect a hot summer in 2010 and we’ll hopefully have starlight every night.

We have created an incredibly rich and colourful programme schedule for this year. We want to indulge you with such delicacies as Boris Godunov, which wasn’t on stage in Hungary for years.  We recommend this performance not specifically to opera-lovers, as the genre of opera is everybody’s.  Our guests will have a unique experience, since besides the music the scenery of this play will also be of high standard.  This production is going to be played only twice in Budapest starring the two greatest artists of the Bolsoj Theatre from Moscow.

Naturally, there will be some première productions this season too: such as the musical version of Mór Jókai’s novel, Szegény gazdagok (Poor Riches), as well as the latest work of the excellent co-writers, György Szomor and Tibor Miklós, the Robin Hood musical, around which we organize an entire Robin festival weekend on Margaret Island’s Great Meadow, with an authentic joust, costume show and fencing, where entire families with the young and the old are most welcome.

Aida, the musical premièred here in 2007, and prospering ever since, is going to be performed again in the Margaret Island Open-air Stage, due to high public demand.

You can also add an an extra adventure to every performance of ours.  This year, for the first time, you can arrive at the Margaret Island Open-air Stage by boat.  The ships, departing from three different river ports - with optional buffet dinner and sightseeing services - will take passengers before the shows to Margaret Island Grand Hotel and Vadaspark stations, and then transport everybody back after the shows. Do not miss this fantastic opportunity!
